Joining an organization
Your work in Coldsea Deploy always happens inside an organization. This guide covers the three ways to get into one: accepting an invitation, joining with a code, and creating your own.
If you sign up without an invitation, account setup offers the same choice right after your first sign-in: Create your own organization, Join an existing organization, or Decide later (see Signing in). Choosing either of the first two there works exactly like the steps below.
Before you start
Most people arrive by invitation. Coldsea Deploy is set up for invitation-only signup by default, so if you open the sign-up page without an invitation you may find it closed. If that happens, ask an administrator at your company to invite you.
You do not need an existing account. Accepting an invitation creates one.
Accept an invitation
You receive an email with a link to the invitation page. The page names the organization you have been invited to before you commit to anything.
- 1
Open the invitation link
The page loads the invitation and shows which organization it is for.

- 2
Create an account, or sign in
If you do not have an account yet, select Create account. If you already have one, select Already have an account? Sign in. Either way you are returned to the invitation afterwards.
- 3
Accept
Select Accept invitation. The button reads "Accepting..." while the request is in flight. You become a member of that organization immediately.
If you do not want to join, select Decline. You are asked to confirm first, and declining cannot be undone. An administrator has to send a new invitation if you change your mind.
An invitation only works for the email address it was sent to. If you are already signed in as somebody else, the page tells you: "You're signed in as ... but this invite is for ...". Select Sign out and continue to switch accounts, or Cancel to leave things as they are.
If the invitation will not open
An invitation that has already been used, turned down, cancelled, or left too long cannot be acted on. The page says which it is:
| What you see | What happened |
|---|---|
| Already accepted | You are already a member. Sign in normally. |
| Invitation declined | You turned this one down. Ask an admin for a new one. |
| Invitation cancelled | An administrator withdrew it. Ask for a new one. |
| Invitation expired | It sat too long. Ask for a new one. |
In every case the fix is the same: ask an administrator to send a fresh invitation.
Join with a code
If your organization has enabled a join code, an administrator can give you an
8-character code such as ABC12345 instead of emailing an invitation.
Enter the code in Join code and select Request to join, either in account setup (Join an existing organization) or, if you are not yet a member of any organization, on the My Organizations page headed Welcome to Coldsea Deploy (select Enter Join Code). An administrator of that organization reviews your request. You get an email when it is approved, and until then the request shows on My Organizations.
Not every organization turns join codes on. If you were not given one, use an invitation instead.
Create your own organization
Choose Create your own organization in account setup, or Create Organization on the Welcome to Coldsea Deploy page in My Organizations. Only a name is required, and you can change it later; industry, company size and website are optional. You become the owner.
Coldsea Deploy has no free plan, so the next step is choosing a plan and paying through Stripe. If you leave checkout before paying, your organization still exists, and you are asked to choose a plan the next time you open it.
What happens next
Once you belong to an organization you go to your dashboard when you sign in. If you belong to more than one, you pick which to work in. To change organization later, select the organization's name at the top of the page and choose another under Your organizations.
New accounts are prompted to set up two-factor authentication on first sign-in, which is required before you can use the rest of the app, and then to finish setting up the account (see Signing in).
